BIOGRAPHY Polly George prides herself in the simplicity of her ceramic collection – all white and always whimsical. Polly George began her career in the mid-90s creating miniature framed collections of everyday objects, such as kitchen utensils and gardening tools for the Conran shops in London, Hamburg & Tokyo.
Polly's sense of humour led her to add Mr & Mrs Jones juicers to her repertoire in 2003 as masters of her Lilliputian universe. Most recently she has been adorning her decorative but functional items such as teapots, cake stands and cups and saucers with a host of charming butterflies, roses and birds.
Polly is as quintessentially English as her irresistibly clever work. She trained in the early 90's in the heart of the English ceramic world, Stoke-on-Trent and now lives in East London.
Polly designs her work in rural Kent and are handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, the historic centre of finest English pottery, Polly's pure and simple white shapes are the trade mark of her studio. Produced in the highest quality Bone China and individually decorated
by hand, they make great gifts, wedding presents or tea sets to use and collect.
LUNA & CURIOUS Established in 2006 by an eclectic mix of designers, creativity and originality are the driving forces at the heart of the Luna and Curious adventure, the antithesis to the mass production we have become so wearily used to.
Luna & Curious has built a reputation as one of East London's essential destination shops. Run by a collective of three designers to bring diverse collections of fashion, jewellery and ceramics – handmade in the UK.
In addition to stocking the collectives individual work, Luna & Curious have supported over 35 new designers, photographers and artists by exhibiting and selling their work through our “Monthlies” scheme, an achievement of which we're very proud.
The designers/makers at Luna & Curious also have a very strong and close relationship with a number of small independently run suppliers, including potteries based in Stoke-on-Trent producing high quality ceramics.
