It was always an ambition of mine to combine my Grandfather Lesley Arden's work with my ceramics – he was an accomplished commercial artist and a prolific watercolourist until he died aged 97. I adapted his patterns from original drawings I found in his endless collection of sketch books and hand apply them in my studio.
